姫鶴平で昼食を取り、さらに今日の宿、天狗荘まで走ります。この先の道行が一番きつい。なにせ、五段城の最高所の辺りまで登る道が、一望できてしまうのだから。
五段城を超えると、すぐに天狗高原です。
この日は天狗荘到着まで好天でしたが、夕刻から急に崩れました。山の天気は急変します。
